Thanks to a grant of £5,000 from the Julia Rausing Trust we were able to offer community groups in Battersea some free minibus trips in the summer. The trips were extremely popular and we were delighted to carry 252 passengers as part of this project. We worked with well-established community groups such as the Katherine Low Settlement and Providence House as well as new and developing groups such as the Friday Frolics.
It was lovely to see so many photographs of people enjoying themselves in the sunshine. There was a real intergenerational aspect to the trips which was particularly pleasing.
We know that day trips can provide a great fillip for people. They provide an opportunity to get out of the house, meet new people, enjoy pleasant surroundings and create special memories.
Thanks to the Julia Rausing Trust for its much-valued support.
