Johnny with Shopping Shuttle passengers

Local community fundraising is incredibly important to us and ensures we can continue to support local, vulnerable, and isolated people.

Whilst our main services are provided under contract with Wandsworth Borough Council, and Sainsbury’s provide our Shopmobility premises, we need your help with supporting all the extras that are so important locally.

Our annual fundraising target is £15,000, which, amongst others, goes directly towards keeping shopping fares low (currently £3, per return trip, door-to-door) for our elderly and disabled passengers, essential in the current climate of rising costs.

As an independent, registered charity, every penny donated means the world to us, and the people that access our services.

We have recently suffered cuts to our funding, and in reality, should be charging at least £5 per trip, as well as making charges for wheelchairs, scooters, and assistants.

We really don’t want to do that – most pensioners travel free on the buses with their freedom passes, so it would be terribly unfair for us to have to charge so much more, and further penalise those who need additional help and cannot use transport independently. We know the people who need us most would struggle to pay and would stop coming, as they have told us.

So please dig deep and help.  Let’s keep Wandsworth moving, together.
